Kaylee
Kaylee is a 4th-year English major, pursuing a minor in Asian American Studies. For the past 2 years, she has worked at the Career Development Center. This position has continued to enhance her skills in leadership, interpersonal communication, collaboration, independent work, multitasking, and technology. She feels that the most important aspect of her position is “collaborating with students on their resumes, cover letters, or job applications and watching them develop a new interest in career development and realize how possible it is for them to succeed in the workforce after graduation.”
Areanna
Areanna is a 4th-year Food Science major. For the past 2 years, she has worked at the Gibson Farm Market, where she has developed her skills in marketing, team leadership, product knowledge, agricultural practices, and team communication. She feels that the most fulfilling aspect of working in this department is “the opportunity to engage with the community and build meaningful connections with the public.”
Evie
Evie is a 4th-year Animal Science – Pre-Vet major. She has worked at the library Starbucks for the past 3 years. Her most rewarding experiences from the job include building customer connections and meeting new people. “It is very exciting because I get to learn new things about different customers! I also have had many opportunities to express myself through my art by creating the chalkboards that are put up at Starbucks!”
Emmy
Emmy is a 3rd-year Business Administration – Finance major. She has worked at the Special Collections Research Center for the past 2 years. In this position, Emmy has developed a range of research skills while working on projects with large collections, and improved her communication skills when interacting with patrons who visit the center for research. To her, the most rewarding part of working in the Collections Research department is “having such a welcoming environment with amazing staff who are always generous and create a comfortable work atmosphere.”
Hannah
Hannah is a 2nd-year Animal Science – Dairy Science major. She has worked at the Dairy Unit for the past 2 years, where she has learned to properly analyze and interpret dairy cow and calf behavior, and deepen her understanding of their nutritional needs. Hannah has also learned the proper techniques for treating ill calves and milking cows. “The most rewarding part of working at the Dairy Unit is seeing the ‘full circle’ of cows getting pregnant, going through their gestation period, and finally seeing them calve to become future milking cows added to the Fresno State dairy herd.”
