How to Be Ready for the Career Fair

Happy Monday Bulldogs! The Career Development Center is hosting our annual Career Fair the first week of October. It’s our goal to help you feel as prepared as possible for these couple of days. Here’s a quick guide on how to feel ready for the Career Fair.

Choose your day of interest!

  • Students choose the day they wish to attend based on their major, career goals, or interests

Wristband breakdown

  • Just like previous years, students will select wristbands based on what they hope to experience while attending. It will also give the employers in attendance a better understanding of what you’re looking for
  1. Red: Exploring my options/Networking
  2. Yellow: Seeking Internship
  3. Green: Open to Work!

Appearance and Attire

  • Since you will be interacting with employers and other organizations, it is best to look professional – even if you are simply netowrking!
  • Business attire is recommended – Dress shirts, slacks, dress shoes, blazers, etc.
  • In need of professional clothing? Grab free items from our Professional Clothing Closet, located within out office and open from 8am-5pm

Resumes

  • Have multiple copies of an updated resume handy, especially for students wearing a Yellow or Green wristband!
  • Your resume should reflect relevant volunteer, internship, or work experience
  • Tailor your resume to your major/field of interest
  • Be concise in your writing
  • Drop by our office for a full resume review before the Career Fair!
