Erik
Erik is a senior Viticulture major working in the Department of Viticulture for the past 4 months. During these few months, he has gained several skills such as knowledge of irrigation systems, harvesting wine & table grapes, and operating different types of equipment. Erik says that the most rewarding aspect of his position is “the knowledge and experience I’m obtaining from working in the vineyards, is preparing me for my future”.
Christopher
Christopher is a Registrar at the Veterans Resource Center. He is currently in his second year of studies as a Pre-Health: Nursing major. In these two semesters working at the Veterans Resource Center, Christopher notes “it’s very rewarding to help fellow students solve issues that I can directly relate to. Specifically being a veteran and helping others like myself, gives a strong sense of community here at Fresno State”. He feels so fortunate to learn more about veterans benefits, and event planning.
Jeanette
Jeanette is a junior, Liberal Studies Major who works for the Kremen Center for Advisor and Student Success. Within her two years of employment, the most rewarding part of the position is “the family-like atmosphere, where we always support one another”.
Braden
Braden is a senior pursuing a degree in Agriculture Education. He is currently in a position working for Agricultural Operations and has been for the past year. With this position, he has had hands-on experience maneuvering tractors and other farm machinery, machinery maintenance, and farm management. “The most rewarding part of working in my department is seeing a field get worked on, and go from nothing to something that grows food for everyone”.
Eduardo
Eduardo has worked for the past year in the Special Collections Research Center, while in the last year of his pursuing a degree in English – Creative Writing. He feels that his skills have greatly grown – specifically in communication and organizational skills and his ability to adapt quickly to new situations. Eduardo believes that the most rewarding aspect of his job in Special Collections is “seeing the excitement of the students and visitors when they find the one thing that helps them in their research. It feels good knowing that I helped play a part in their happiness”.
