Welcome to the Graduate Students Affinity Group!
The resources in this section focus on career development resources for graduate students. More than 3,000 such students are enrolled in studies leading to a graduate degree at either the master’s or doctoral level. Some of these students also obtain advanced credentials or certificates of advanced study. Fresno State is committed to support student career development by connecting them with opportunities, mentorship, and communities that understand their unique experiences.
This 1,110 square foot space, created for Fresno State graduate students, is housed on the second floor of the Library (HML 2119). It includes a collaborative learning area, computer workstations, laptop tables, and private study rooms. The Graduate Writing Studio and Graduate Statistics Studio are also housed in this space.
Career Advising
At any stage in the college experience, students and alumni can meet with a career counselor to clarify their career direction, ensure they are prepared to market themselves well or to develop a personalized job search approach. Employer events, an on-campus recruiting program, and on-line job listing systems can maximize an individual’s access to career opportunities.
The Career Development Center at Fresno State offers various resources for students. Available services include career counseling appointments, walk in advising hours, career assessment, resume/c.v. and cover letter critique, as well as assistance in crafting of applications to doctoral programs.
