The Code2040 Fellows Program is a nationally recognized career accelerator designed to support Black and Latinx students pursuing careers in technology and innovation.

Hosted by Code2040, the 10-month program combines technical career preparation, mentorship, racial equity advocacy training, and community-building to help students successfully navigate internships and careers in the tech industry.

Fellows participate in workshops, networking opportunities, mentorship experiences, hackathons, and career development programming while receiving support throughout the internship search process. The program is primarily virtual and connects students nationwide.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled at a U.S. college or university
  • Identify as Black and/or Latinx
  • Seeking a tech internship (not full-time employment)
  • Experience coding in at least one programming language
  • Interested in racial equity advocacy in technology

Code2040 notes that the program acceptance rate is typically around 30–35% of applicants.

Community feedback about the program is mixed but generally recognizes its strong networking and mentorship opportunities. Some students report valuable community support and career preparation, while others note that internship outcomes can vary depending on market conditions and individual engagement.
