HPPP Paid Summer Internship Program

This program is designed to provide hands-on, real-world experience for students exploring careers in the health professions.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Active HPPP participant
  • Enrolled at Fresno State for Fall
  • GPA 2.7 or higher recommended
  • Available full-time for an 8-10 week summer internship
  • Interest in health, medicine, or STEM research
Application Process
  1. Complete the online application
  2. Submit:
    • Unofficial transcripts
    • Updated resume
  3. Interview with the program coordinator and CASA director
  4. Interview with the site coordinator (if selected)
Internship Sites (Examples by Pre-Health Interest)
  • Pre-Dental: Janzen Dental, Central Valley Indian Health (Dental)
  • Pre-Medical: Central Valley Indian Health, United Health Centers, Tzu Chi Medical Foundation
  • Pre-Optometry: EYE-Q
  • Pre-Clinical Psychology/Psychology: Toribio Psychological Services, Sierra Meadows Foundation
  • Pre-Public Health: EOC Health Services, Marjaree Mason Center, Central Valley Health Policy Institute
Program Timeline
  • Application Opens: March
  • Deadline: March 27
  • Interviews: April 6–17
  • Program Dates: June 1 – August 7
  • Orientation Week: May 25–29
Internship Expectations
  • Full-time participation (30-40 hours/week)
  • Attend orientations, trainings, and check-ins
  • Submit bi-monthly timesheets
  • Participate in professional development sessions
  • Follow site policies
Recurring Opportunities
  • HPPP Summer Internships are available annually, with potential changes in sites, stipend amounts, and availability.
