The Sacramento Semester Program is a spring semester program offering CSU students hands-on internships in California’s state government, paired with seminars for an immersive policy and public service experience.
Application and Program Timeline
- March-April: Meet with major advisor or your department’s Internship Coordinator to review program requirements and impact on planned graduation date.
- Mid-September: Attend or view the recording of the Student Information session hosted by Sacramento Semester Program Director. Follow up with your home campus advisor regarding your planned application.
- Information session from 12-1:30pm on Monday, September 15, 2025
- Application portal opens after the info session
- Late October: Submit application by Friday, October 24, 2025
- Applicants receive decision notification last week of October/first week of November
- Mid-November: Accepted applicants must confirm participation by Friday, November 14, 2025
- December-early January: Confirmed participants enrolled in program courses. Enrollment for visiting students may vary depending on receipt and processing of required forms.
- Mid January: Mandatory program Orientation held January 20-23, 2026
- Spring semester officially begins January 26, 2026
- May: The program ends in mid/late May.
