Position Description
Join the PARCS Team at CampFresno in Dinkey Creek. Enjoy the outdoors of the Sierra Nevada Mountains whileproviding a safe, fun, and friendly environment for youth ages 7-17.
The City of Fresno operates afamily and group camp (Camp Fresno/Camp Fresno Jr.) located on Dinkey Creek, 15miles east of Shaver Lake and 65 miles from Fresno. Weather is typical of theSierra Nevada Mountains; summers are normally dry with occasionalthundershowers and temperatures in the 80’s F.
The City of Fresno is seekingdedicated, self-motivated, and passionate people. Positions filled by this recruitmentwill provide youth programming for Camp Fresno attendees. Positions includecamp counselors and cooks.
Qualified candidates for youthprogramming will have experience supporting recreation activities such as artsand crafts, swimming, hiking, fishing, sports, games, and more. Applicantsshould be comfortable with the outdoors.
This is a temporary employmentopportunity; it does not include health or retirement benefits. The seasonalemployment is between April and September 2024, depending on Camp needs. Thistemporary assignment in no way guarantees full-time employment. This seasonalposition can become year-round. Camp counselors may work up to 40 hours perweek. Specific shift times and schedules will be dependent on Camp needs.On-site camp cabin housing (dormitory) is provided for overnight shifts.
The Requirements
Experiencein recreational services and customer service is preferred. Experience workingwith youth and young adults is preferred but not required. Knowledge ofrecreational and outdoor activities such as crafts, games, and sports ispreferred.

Theselected candidates will be required to successfully pass a departmentinterview and a Department of Justice fingerprint before employment with theCity of Fresno.
Proof of current Tuberculosis (TB) Testclearance (2 years old or more recent) is required consistent with CaliforniaPublic Resources Code 5163.
