We are looking for an entry-level field technician for our environmental services company headquartered in Golden CO. We conduct borehole investigations using traditional and state of the art logging technologies (hydrophysics, geophysics), developed both internally and cooperatively with others. A large portion of our work is for governmental entities (eg US Army Environmental Center, US Army Corps of Engineers, DOD, etc.) and we work with several national labs (eg Sandia, Livermore, and Berkeley). We also teach classes around the country for which Colorado School of Mines offers CEUs.
We seek a Field Technician with mechanical ability, clean driving record and ideally a Commercial Driver’s License. The position requires computer proficiency, mechanical dexterity, and, preferably, some training in fluid mechanics, geophysical, geological and/or hydrogeologic sciences. There is a physical aspect to the position and the successful applicant should be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. We envision the position to potentially become fulltime; as such, the candidate will need to be able to travel to job sites around the country and possibly internationally, have a clean drivers license and clean criminal record and be able to access federal and military sites. If possible, travel to job sites could happen immediately depending upon availability of candidate.
Given the likely exposure to proprietary and trade secret information, a confidentiality agreement and background check would be required.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
· Assist in maintenance/repair/check-out (calibrations, etc) of borehole testing field equipment (hydrophysical/geophysical tools and other such as pumps, meters, etc)
· Assist with data collection in the field, at site all over the country and possibly internationally
· Assist in maintenance/repair/upkeep of logging vehicles and fleet
· Drive to sites and operate remotely within the conditions of DOT regulations, and be prepared to travel extensively.
- Be available to work 10-15 hours per week
