Spend one year gaining real-world training and experience at a local health department. Residents work full-time and earn a competitive entry-level salary and additional incentives that may include up to $10,000 for student loan repayment support.
During the residency, you will:

Be part of a learning cohort of other CAHD residents across California, building your professional network
To be eligible, you must be:

A current student in your final academic term OR have received an undergraduate or graduate degree within 12 months of applying to the program.

From California or have lived most of your life in California. If you are unsure if you meet this requirement, we encourage you to still apply.

Interested in a career in local public health.
**Special consideration will be given to candidates who are from California’s Inland Empire or Central Valley and/or are committed to a public health career in either of those regions.
