Salary Range: Correct placement on the EUSD salary schedule based on years of teaching experience and units beyondBachelor’s Degree.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Aligns classroom curriculum with adopted standards and materials.
- Delivers instruction using appropriate delivery strategies, including demonstration, observation, inquiry, discussion, cooperativelearning, manipulatives and other hands-on experiences.
- Evaluates students using benchmark assessment.
- Recommends placement in English program based on assessed student needs.
- Uses large group, small group, and individual instruction appropriate to subject matter and learners’ needs.
- Plans daily class schedule, lessons, and activities to achieve a balanced program of individual and group work at theachievement level of the students involved.
- Cooperates with the other professional staff in the assessment and instructional planning for individual student needs.
- Provides learning situations which enhance students’ acquisition of knowledge and the mastery of skills.
- Participates in school/department curriculum development and instructional improvement programs.
- Established and maintains high standards of student behavior in order to establish a productive, exciting classroom environmentconducive to learning.
- Provides formative and summative evaluation that measures student achievement of objectives.
- Administers group and standardized tests as appropriate in accordance with the District’s testing program and informs students,parents, and administration of student progress.
- Provides an attractive physical environment in the classroom through displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers connectedto learning objectives that maximize interest and motivation.
- Attends and participates in school-related activities as required.
- Maintains parent contacts to support or promote student achievement.
- Plans for the effective use of assigned classified staff.
- Provides continuous evaluation of personal and professional goals and objectives.
- Established and maintains mutual respect between teacher and students.
- Develops and prioritizes long and short-term learning objectives within curriculum guidelines.
- Supervises students in various school situations.
- Utilizes evaluation results to plan for subsequent instruction.
- Inventories and requisitions books, instructional materials, and supplies as needed.
- Maintains professional competency and appropriate certification through participation in professional development activitiesprovided by the District and self-selected professional growth activities.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, vitality, and connection with his/her students.
- Maintains suitable physical health and energy to fulfill professional responsibilities and to achieve performance standardsoutlined by the District.
- Participates in faculty meetings as requested.
- Uses empathy and compassion in dealing with all students recognizing, appreciating, and taking into consideration cultural,social, ethnic, economic, and other individual difference.
- Special assignments may require additional duties defined in an addendum (e.g. mentor teacher, special program teacher).
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree including all courses to meet credential requirements.
- Student teaching, Internship, or full-time teaching experience.
- Valid California Single Subject Preliminary or Professional Single Subject Clear credential or eligibility to obtain above based onout of state certification, that authorizes service in English in grades 9-12.
- Must hold authorization to serve English Learners/CLAD or BCLAD.
- The teacher preparation program may be completed concurrently with employment under special circumstances, if approvedby the District (internship).
Working Conditions:
- Primarily classroom environment, some outside environment.
- Seeing to monitor student activities.
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information and assist students in instructional activities and sitting or standing for extendedperiods of time.
