Now accepting tutor applications for Fall 2024 (actively recruiting only for Business, Chemistry, Health, Liberal Studies, Mathematics, Physics & Engineering, Social Sciences, and Writing).
Learning Center tutors are Fresno State students who provide free academic support to other Fresno State students. Tutors meet with students who seek academic support in-person or online, drop-in or by appointment, for a specific course, a writing assignment, or a specialized skill. Tutors are hired to be on a specific team organized around a subject such as Business, Chemistry, or Math; however, they may support additional courses outside the subject depending on their past courses and grades. Tutors work 6-17 tutoring hours per week in shifts of at least 1 hour (Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm, Friday 9am-3pm), 1 prep hour per week with a small group of tutors, and 2 hours per month (Friday 3-5pm) for monthly meetings with all tutors. With the exception of brief meetings with staff via Zoom and paid classroom outreach presentations, tutors work all their hours in the Learning Center.
