Students interested in obtaining a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) are encouraged to join the Pre-Pharmacy Club. In addition to academic requirements, applications to Pharmacy School require demonstration of leadership skills, community service and pharmacy experience through volunteering or employment. The Pre-Pharmacy Club encourages development of leadership skills through service both as a club officer and as an organizing participant in events that will not only help students learn more about Pharmacy as a career, but also strengthen their Phamacy School applications. Examples of such organized events include: presentations by local pharmacists and Pharmacy School representatives; club-sponsored involvement in community service activities; field trips to California Pharmacy Schools and local clinical pharmacies; and workshops and forums for discussions on the array of opportunities for trained pharmacists both in and beyond retail pharmacy.
